I am a photographer who grew up in Greater Boston, with an artistic passion for storytelling.  As an only child, I connected deeply with the peaceful stillness observation provides, and the truth it shares within us. 

 

     Photography for me feels simply an intuitive extension of everything I understand. Snapping pictures, capturing moments, telling stories: revealing the relationship between design, nature, people and place.  Simply pausing on that which can be stunning, hopeful or meaningful to the human experience. Every moment has a story.  As a photographer it is our calling to bear witness and share that truth.​ 

 

     My first camera was given to me at five years old, a wooden Playskool and a dream come true!  I carried it everywhere and observed everything. To this day, dozens of real cameras and years of experience later, I am still enamored with the artistic medium photography provides as light, shadow, composition and people’s stories fill the world around us.

 

     Photography complements my love for being an observer of human behavior and our environment which is additionally rooted and expressed from the foundations of my careers in social work and theatre.  Ultimately, I see photography as being a keen eye into the soul of the world around us.

     I now live in the Midwest, in our hundred year old, historic "HeartStone Home" which has been lovingly restored, designed and added onto by my husband who is a professional carpenter.  My photography and his acrylic paintings collectively create Gamache Stone Gallery.  Our downtown neighborhood in this small, international college city is miraculously nestled every day by the beauty of songbirds, the scamper of squirrels and rabbits, and the wandering presence of deer near our door. This life, our home and family are central in providing harmony to our creative work.
